1. How accurate is the pricing calculator? The calculator gives you a very close estimate based on your quantity and door style. The final price may vary slightly depending on your specific measurements, but it’s designed to give you a realistic idea of your total investment.
2. What’s the difference between the four options? Option 1 is just the professional Diamond Bond paint kit. Options 2, 3, and 4 include new shaker doors at different levels of finish. The higher the option number, the less work you have to do yourself.
3. Do you install the cabinets or just sell the materials? We sell the materials and refinishing system. We do not offer installation. Most of our customers successfully complete the project themselves or hire a local handyman.
4. What is the minimum order? Our minimum order is 20 doors and drawer faces.
5. How long does this project usually take? There’s no rush since you’re working in your own home. Many homeowners spread the work over 1 to 2 weeks. Experienced DIYers can sometimes finish in just a few days, while others prefer to take their time.
6. Do the doors come pre-drilled for hinges? Yes, all of our shaker doors come pre-drilled with standard hinge placement.
7. How important is it to measure accurately? Very important. Since your doors and drawers are custom built to your measurements, we strongly recommend you double and triple-check all measurements using the instructions we provide.
8. How much can I really save doing this myself? Most customers save between 40% and 50% compared to hiring a traditional cabinet refacing company.
9. Do you ship nationwide? Yes, we ship to all 48 continental United States.
10. What if I’m not sure which option is best for me? You can use the calculator to compare all four options side by side. Most people start with Option 1 or Option 4 depending on how much work they want to do themselves. If you get stuck or can’t make a decision, feel free to call us. We’re happy to talk you through the process.
11. What if I make a mistake and give you the wrong measurements? This is exactly where you do not want to rush. If you're not 100% sure about your measurements, please call us or send us pictures before placing your order. We’re happy to walk you through it. If you do make a simple mistake, we’re usually happy to replace the affected door or drawer at a minimal cost or sometimes free of charge. However, if it’s a large mistake that affects many pieces, you may be responsible for the cost of the replacement doors.
12. Is it important to use a sprayer? Most people can successfully use the high-quality brush and roller we provide with the DiamondBond system. However, the doors can be a bit trickier to get a perfectly smooth factory-like finish.
If you’re experienced with a paint sprayer, you’re welcome to spray the doors while brushing and rolling the cabinet boxes. If you don’t currently have a sprayer but would like to learn, simply purchase Option 3 (raw doors + paint kit). We can help you get a sprayer at minimal cost — and in some cases even provide one for free. You’ll also get access to our Cabinet Makeover University training.
13. Do I need to buy new hinges? It depends on which option you choose. If you purchase Option 1 or Option 2, you will need to provide your own hinges. If you choose Option 3 or Option 4, we include high-quality soft-close hinges.
14. Do you provide new drawer boxes? Yes, we can provide new replacement drawer boxes along with undermount soft-close slides — but only as part of a full cabinet makeover project. We do not sell drawer boxes separately. If you’re interested in new drawers, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to discuss it with you.
